Mr. Ross J. Craigie

Mr. Ross Craigie has been a consultant paediatric and neonatal surgeon at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital, the largest children’s hospital in the UK, since 2010. He has developed expertise in abdominal wall reconstruction for congenital abdominal wall defects and large incisional hernias as well as chest wall reconstruction following resection of tumours in the paediatric population. His other clinical interests include paediatric oncology surgery, and he is a surgical committee member of the European Paediatric Soft Tissue Sarcoma Study Group (EpSSG). He is the pancreatic surgeon for the Northern Congenital Hyperinsulinism Service at RMCH, one of only two centres in the UK that offer this service. His clinical research interests have resulted in the publication of over fifty papers on a wide range of children’s surgical conditions including that on use of biological membranes in paediatric reconstructive surgery. He has written several chapters in the Oxford Textbook of Fundamentals of Surgery and Surgical Techniques in Paediatric and Adolescent Urology.

Mr. Robert Peters has been a Consultant Paediatric Surgeon at the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital, the largest children's hospital in the UK, since 2018. Robert completed his higher surgical training in Paediatric Surgery in the North West (Manchester and Liverpool). He has subspecialty interests in minimally invasive thoracic and upper gastrointestinal surgery, including surgery for gastro-oesophageal reflux and hiatal / para-oesophageal hernias. He is also one of three surgeons who provide surgery for children with oesophageal atresia.
